The goal of those who released the Manhattan Declaration is to build a movement of Catholic, Evangelical, and Eastern Orthodox Christians who will stand together alongside other men and women of goodwill to advance the sanctity of life, rebuild and revitalize the marriage culture, and protect religious liberty.

We therefore ask you to send an email to your friends and ask them to visit www.manhattandeclaration.org to read the declaration and, if they agree, to sign it.

Below are some sample email texts you could use. You can simply copy and paste one into an email, or you may modify any of them to suit your needs:

Please join with me and nearly a quarter of a million others who have voiced their support for the sanctity of life, traditional marriage, and religious liberty by electronically signing the Manhattan Declaration.

The Manhattan Declaration addresses with urgent eloquence the devaluation of human life, the corruption of marriage, and the erosion of religious liberty in our society. With careful argument, it brings light to those who read it through its strong yet sweetly reasonable message.

Since it was released on November 20, 2009 the Manhattan Declaration has gained thousands of supporters daily, including me. You can read the declaration by visiting www.manhattandeclaration.org. If you agree with the document, please sign it. And then please forward this email to others who might endorse it as well.

SAMPLE 2

I just added my name to the Manhattan Declaration to voice my support for the sanctity of life, traditional marriage, and religious liberty. Thousands of people have signed it, and I encourage you to do so, too. I urge you to visit www.manhattandeclaration.org to read the document and, if you agree, please sign it. And then please forward this email to others who might endorse it as well.
